We participate in local events, host them, and are always trying to find ways to give back.
While we participate in many local events, there are four we'd love to highlight today. Since we're an auto dealership, we've realized that one incredible way to help raise money for community organizations in need is a vehicle Give-Away. Our Jeep Wrangler Give-Away is in support of The Lorain County Blue Foundation, or LCBF for short. The LCBF is a non-profit organization that helps law enforcement officers going through tough chapters in their lives. All proceeds from the Jeep Wrangler Give-Away are donated to the LCBF. We're so thankful to be able to help such an incredible organization that does so much good for the community, and we're looking forward to finding other organizations to help with this program as well.
Our Jeep dealership in Amherst also knows how important education is to our community. That's why the free event we decided to host for the Amherst Steele High School track team was so special to us. The event was a discussion forum with internationally-renowned speakers on a number of key track and field topics.
Our Sliman's Sales and Service staff and other volunteers also host a community clothing drive. The clothes are given to those here in our community, as well as others in need both domestically and internationally. It's normally held sometime in the Spring and all community residents are welcomed to participate and donate their items! This idea actually started a few years ago when we sponsored a shoe drive for Jamaican children who were forced to walk around barefoot because they couldn't afford shoes. The Amherst community was so willing to help out with so many donations flooding in that we decided to continue facilitating other community drives again. That's how our annual clothing community drive was born: Share Clothes.
